About Annika

Hi there, I’m Annika. I love empowering people to be their own best advocate. I have been a special education teacher and learning specialist for over 15 years. I have educational experience in all core subjects with a love of writing and math, executive function strategies, and study skills.

I have worked extensively with students with a variety of learning differences including ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, LBLD, and anxiety. When we work together you will notice my sense of humor, my flexible and creative thinking, and my ability to be straightforward and get to the point.

As a special education advocate and parent support specialist, I am trained to understand an individual child’s learning challenges and develop goals and programs to help them to succeed in and out of the classroom setting. Success in school, either traditional or homeschool, is measured both by a child’s academic and behavioral success within that system and beyond. My goal is to help students develop success in schooling and support them as they learn to apply these skills into adulthood.

When it comes to education, I believe in a strong and trusting relationship where both teacher and student can learn in a respectful environment. Learning happens when someone can feel safe, engaged, and have autonomy in their own learning. Learning is innate, while schooling is a system to be learned and mastered. With the right tools and practice, success can be found in a variety of environments. I work to develop trust and take the whole child into account, as we navigate their own unique path.

I live with my husband, our neurodivergent children, one deaf dog and two cats. We live on a few acres in New Hampshire, where I enjoy gardening, walks in the woods, and baking everything from brownies to bread.

I look forward to learning more about you and your family,
